Interfaith Marriage in North Lombok: Sociological Perspective of Islamic Law

Interfaith marriage has no legal foundation. However, this practice is still carried out among the people of North Lombok. Using a purposeful sampling methodology, authors used descriptive qualitative method to collect data from several interviewees, including village heads, religious leaders, and interfaith players. According study, requires bride follow religion her prospective spouse. Environmental factors, kinfolk or kindred, married by accident, sociocultural lack knowledge, transmigration all contribute marriage. At very least, psychologically affects spouses families. It also an impact on peace surrounding communities. In meantime, leaders advise against weddings.
